The family Kaygusuz
Bozburun with it’s large safe bay on a heavily indented unspoilt coastline has become a centre for Gullet holidays. A gullet is a broad beamed wooden sailing boat developed on this Turkish Aegean coast with the origins in the Ottoman era Sponge diving and sailing trading vessels. Now they are exclusively built for the luxury charter market.
There are great depths of boat building skills to be found in Bozburun but this family stand out as professional builders working to exacting standards having built over many years more boats than they can remember.
